国际学生入学条件
Please have official transcripts sent directly from all undergraduate institutions attended, as well as from any graduate programs (if applicable).
Our Graduate Admissions Committee usually looks for a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.
For international students, if the original documents are not in English, a verified translation must be sent in addition to the official transcripts in your native language. The Office of International Admissions will not accept electronic transcripts.
If you are an international applicant, all transcripts must be sent to the Office of International Admissions, even if you have attended an institution in the United States.
Please have ETS send official GRE score results electronically to the Economics department at Indiana University Bloomington. The Institution Code is 1324. The Department of Economics Code is 1801. Please note that we do not accept GMAT scores.
If you have taken the IELTS, the minimum score for consideration is a 6.5 while a 7.0 and above is competitive for financial aid consideration. If TOEFL scores are older than 2 years and/or have a total score that is less than 90 on the iBT, or if you submit an IELTS score, please be aware that you may be required to take the Indiana English Proficiency Exam if you are admitted to Indiana University.

The University Graduate School requires doctoral students to complete 90 credit hours, with approximately half of these hours as formal coursework. In addition to the formal course work required for our Ph.D. degree, you are required to participate in at least one workshop. Our department encourages graduate students to present papers at workshops and scholarly meetings, and to publish their research. You can gain teaching experience by enrolling in a course specifically designed for training in the teaching of economics, assisting in large undergraduate courses, and by teaching their own smaller courses.
