Most evaluations will typically include certified copies of the documents used to conduct the evaluation. If certified copies of your academic record(s) are not included with the evaluation, you will be responsible for requesting that official documents be sent to UIS from each institution attended, along with an English translation (if the records are in a language other than English). If you are seeking a bachelors degree at UIS and do not have any post-secondary or university-level coursework,those who earned an associate degree in the United States with a GPA of 2.0 or better on a 4.0 scale, or those who graduated from and attended a U.S. high school for three or more years, are not required to submit TOEFL scores. Upon completion of a Bachelor's degree through the College of Business and Management, students will meet the following goals and objectives:<br>Demonstrate knowledge of key concepts in the major business disciplines, including accounting, economics, management, marketing, finance information systems and the legal and social environment of business.<br>Systematically analyze a business problem using appropriate methods. Students will be able to: effectively examine alternatives, analyze alternatives, and recommend an appropriate course of action.<br>Demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the use of presentation technologies.<br>Demonstrate effective written communication skills.<br>Understand the use of information technologies in organizations.<br>Understand, interpret, and analyze quantitative problems and quantitatively presented information.<br><br>The College of Business and Management seeks to have a learning environment in which traditional and nontraditional students are given learning opportunities to prepare them for careers, positions, and/or advancement in corporate, government, and nonprofit organizations. The College's curriculum acknowledges the impact of increasing globalization and technological advances in the marketplace and prepares students to compete in this rapidly changing environment. The College of Business and Management is accredited by AACSB International, a distinction earned by fewer than five percent of business schools worldwide. Through economics course work, students build strong conceptual thinking and problem-solving skills by understanding and applying economic theory to real world problems. Specific program objectives include the development of: basic knowledge of micro- and macroeconomic theory, fundamental understanding of quantitative methods of analysis, research competencies using the theories and methods of economic analysis, and skills for applying theories and models to contemporary economic issues and policies.
