The Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics degree, offered by the College of Business (COB), is crafted to provide professional training in economics and in business for students contemplating administrative or research careers in business or government. The program is unique in three respects- It allows students to pursue a major in economics while taking the same foundations courses required of all business students. Hence the name BBA in Economics. Pursuing both Business and Economics curricula is a natural and synergistic combination - each reinforces the other - making this program better than either economics or business alone, thereby, providing students with an advantage in a competitive job market. It provides students who wish to pursue graduate studies with the option of seeking an MBA, M.A. or Ph.D. in such fields as economics, finance or management. Students are encouraged to become involved in the Economics Club, a student-run organization that meets regularly to organize applications outside the classroom. Promising students are invited to join the Fed Challenge team, a student-team competition that competes with teams from other universities in a mock Federal Open Market Committee meeting. Students also have the opportunity to become members of Omicron Delta Epsilon, the national economics honor society.
