The Certificate in Graduate Study in Financial Economics is a non-degree interdisciplinary program with courses in economics, statistics, and computer science for a student seeking a practical program of study to prepare for technical or administrative positions in the financial industry. The certificate in Financial Engineering is open to all students admitted to degree and non-degree study at Northern Illinois University. All courses for the certificate in Financial Engineering must be completed at NIU. Course work leading to the certificate in Financial Engineering must be completed within six years immediately preceding awarding of the certificate. Students must earn a grade point average of at least 3.00 in courses used toward the certificate in Financial Engineering. Courses completed for the certificate in Financial Engineering may also be used to satisfy requirements for graduate degree programs.
