国际学生入学条件
International applicants must provide proof of English language proficiency. Applicants must upload the proficiency test results to their application. The minimum acceptable score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is 92 with a minimum band score of 21. The minimum overall score on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is 7.0 with at least 6.5 in each band.

Applicants whose most recent degree is from an institution outside Canada are required to complete the verbal, quantitative and analytical sections of the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE). The examinations should be written early enough for scores to be available to be included in the online application before the application deadline. Both scores and percentages must be posted. The Department requires minimum score of 80% below in the quantitative section of the exam to be considered eligible for our programs. No substitutions for the GRE (such as GMAT) will be accepted. The GRE is not a substitute for the English language test.

The Department of Economics at the University of Alberta offers three graduate programs in Economics: a 12 month course-based MA in Economics, a 24 month course-based MA in Economics and Finance, and a PhD program. Our MA programs provide students with the theoretical and applied skills needed to enter the workforce or continue in a PhD program.Graduates of our MA programs who continue their education enter PhD programs in Economics and Finance at a number of universities, including the Universities of Alberta, Calgary, Toronto, and Western Ontario. Graduates from out PhD program have found positions at Mount Royal University, MacEwan University, Wilfred Laurier University, and the University of Regina as well as provincial and federal governments.The Department of Economics provides a thesis based PhD program in which students develop competency in the core areas of economics as well as mastery in their chosen fields.
