The JD/MSW dual degree offers students the opportunity to gain an exceptional knowledge base and skill set that will prepare them to assume positions of leadership in law and public/social policy organizations. Students will gain an understanding of institutions and multidisciplinary problem-solving skills in this dual degree program. Upon completion of the JD/MSW, students become effective client advocates. The JD/MSW takes four years to complete - one year less than if both degrees were completed separately. Students must comply with the admission requirements for both degree programs. The equivalent of five semesters (earning 77 credits) are spent at the law school and three semesters (earning 51 credits) are at the George Warren Brown School of Social Work. Students who start in one program are welcome to apply to the other program and begin the JD/MSW in their second year of school.
