社会工作系提供为期四年的学习计划，可取得社会工作学位（BSW）学士学位，该课程为学生准备入门级的通才课程。该计划包括课堂课程和当地社会服务机构的现场实践经验。必修课程分为五个内容领域：人类在社会环境中的行为，社会福利政策与服务，研究，社会工作实践，实地实践。印第安纳州立大学是印第安纳州提供儿童福利BSW学者计划的四所大学之一。学生在BSW课程的三年级期间申请。此外，大学的社会工作系还赞助了许多活动和组织，使学生能够与其他学生和专业人员互动，包括Phi Alpha荣誉协会和学生社会工作协会。
As a social work major at Indiana State University, you will learn to work professionally with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities to help enhance individuals’ opportunities and quality of life. Indiana State's experienced instructors serve as guides and mentors for students entering the social work profession through our Bachelor of Social Work program. They will equip you to broaden your perspectives, think critically, apply relevant theories, and develop the empathy and interpersonal skills needed to engage with people of all backgrounds.<br><br>Our small class sizes give you the chance to work one-on-one with professors. As you complete field practicum experiences, you will benefit from your instructors’ knowledge and experience as they advise you on best professional practices.
