Completion of first-year requirements including Sociology 1020, Sociology 1020W/X or Sociology 1021E with a mark of at least 60%.
Students admitted to King's University College must be proficient in written and spoken English. If English is not your first language, you must provide proof of your proficiency in listening, speaking, writing and reading English. Typically, this is done through an official test or ESL program. We reserve the right to ask anybody to provide proof of English language proficiency.
You must provide official transcripts from all previous institutions attended (secondary and post-secondary)

A complete IB Diploma, including:
Theory of Knowledge and Extended Essay
Passes in at least six subjects (three at Higher Level)
A minimum total grade of 25 (including the Extended Essay and TOK)
No mark less than 4 on any course
Required courses for your program
IELTS Academic is required with a minimum overall band score of 6.5 with no part less than 6.0.
Students must achieve a written TOEFL score of 580 or higher and a score of 4.5 on the TWE or a score of 85-90 on Internet Based Test (IBT) with no section less than 20.
Duolingo - A minimum score of 115 overall with a minimum of 100 for each subscore.

In the Department of Sociology, we engage with the pressing social issues of our time.<br>Sociology teaches you to make connections between individual experiences and broader social structures and processes.<br>Criminology is a subfield of Sociology, and is the study of legal and extra-legal sanctions, including their effects on individuals, the police, corrections, the judiciary, the state, and social and governmental reactions to it.<br>The Department of Sociology offers degrees in Sociology and Criminology. In your first year, you will take Sociology 1020, 1020W/X, or 1021E to enter a Sociology or a Criminology module in your second year.<br>A degree in Sociology or Criminology helps open the door to a range of potentially interesting and rewarding career paths including law, journalism, social work, human resources, teaching, social policy and planning, policing, corrections, public administration and government.<br>The Sociology department offers three- and four-year Majors in Sociology and Criminology, as well as a four-year Honours Specialization in Sociology or Criminology. You can also earn in Minor in Sociology or Criminology, or combine a Sociology or Criminology degree with other related disciplines, such as Psychology, Political Science, Social Work or History.
