Many students are interested in using anthropological knowledge and skills to make change in the world. This 12-credit concentration offers undergraduate students the opportunity to learn about applying anthropology in a range of different work settings, gain skills for professional careers, and prepare materials to explain their anthropological skillset to prospective employers.<br><br>Applied/Practicing Anthropology is one of five signature research strengths in the Department of Anthropology through which we seek to study human diversity through time,expand knowledge of human cultural processes, and address global grand challenges. This concentration provides the chance to systematically engage with anthropological career development through classes and experiential learning.<br><br>Our faculty with applied interests can help students develop their career paths in medical anthropology, environmental anthropology, conservation, human rights and social justice work, cultural resource management, business/organizational and design anthropology to name some important areas.
