课程简介
政治科学对于解决公民面临的世界上最复杂的社会问题至关重要
Exploring the breadth and depth of political science, the Honours Bachelor of Arts Political Science degree provides a solid foundation in understanding various dimensions of political life. From internal political structures and practices to global relationships, you’ll gain insights into governance, electoral systems, social movements, historic transformations, and more. The curriculum not only deepens your understanding of political science but also hones crucial skills in analytical reading, thinking, and writing. Whether you’re contemplating Political Science as a major or taking a course out of interest, our Department offers a comprehensive and high-quality undergraduate curriculum. A Political Science degree serves as a gateway to a variety of career options, such as government roles, journalism, media, political support services, public affairs management, and international organizations. Some graduates also choose to pursue advanced studies in professional fields such as law, social work, and education. As an undergraduate student, you can actively engage in our vibrant McMaster Political Science Students Association (MPSSA) and participate in events like the annual Model United Nations. Our foundational Level I courses will introduce you to the basics of politics, power, and political governance. In upper years, you can specialize in Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, Political Theory, Public Policy, or International Relations, tailoring your education to your interests and career goals. Electives outside the department will broaden your perspective, providing a multidisciplinary approach that enriches your understanding of societal dynamics and enhances your ability to connect political science principles with a broader academic context.
