The Department of Kinesiology is inspired by the need for bold, innovative, and impactful leaders in the areas of Exercise Science, Sports Management, and Physical Education. The faculty and staff in the Department of Kinesiology at Valparaiso University are devoted to helping students unlock their full potential in a variety of fields related to health, fitness, and sport. We prepare our students to enter their fields of study as confident, ethical, and visionary professionals. Our goals are to provide and support student engagement, cultivate ethical leaders and critical thinkers, and assist students on their road to self-discovery. These goals are met through promotion of physical activity and health, fostering leadership in sport management, engagement in scientific inquiry, and excellence in teaching and mentoring. Each program curriculum provides opportunities and resources for students to develop their strengths. Through experiential learning, close mentoring, and practical training, we guide our graduates to become among the top competitors in their fields.
