The Division of Athletic Training, Health and Exercise Science offers a B.S./M.S. dual- degree in Athletic Training. The 150-credit degree program, offered by the Athletic Training Program (ATP), prepares students to take the Board of Certification (BOC) exam to enter the field as a certified athletic trainer (ATC)®. The program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) and is registered with the NY State Education Department (NYSED). <br><br>The comprehensive curriculum is divided into two phases: a three-year Pre-Professional Phase of 83 credits and a two-year Professional Phase of 67 credits. Students entering without a bachelor's or an associate's degree are required to complete the full five-year plan of study. Those holding a previous degree are required to complete two years of professional study in athletic training, providing there are adequate liberal arts and sciences for the bachelor's degree awarded in the program. At the end of the Professional Phase, students will receive a combined Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degree and will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification examination to become a Certified Athletic Trainer.
