Admission committees, made up of faculty in the specialization areas, will review all completed applications. Due to limited spaces in the specialization areas, meeting minimum entrance requirements does not guarantee admission to the HSES graduate programs. If you are applying for the Master’s degree in Health Education & Psychology of Physical Activity (thesis track), we strongly encourage you to contact a faculty member within the HSES Department from your specialization area of interest for a required interview before completing the application process.
Regular admission requires a bachelor’s degree and a grade-point average (GPA) of at least a B (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) from a regionally accredited institution, like KU, or a foreign university with substantially equivalent bachelor’s degree requirements.TRANSCRIPTS: One official copy of your academic transcript from each college or university attended.
RESUME: A current copy of your professional resume, curriculum vita (CV), or an electronic portfolio.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: 1-2 page statement indicating how the program relates to your career goals.

LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION: 3 letters of recommendation from qualified individuals are collected via
the online application system. The letters should include info regarding qualifications and capacity for rigorous
graduate study. It is important that the letters speak specifically to the applicant's academic skills and abilities
