If you pursue a Kinesiology degree at UTSA (ranked as the 38th Most Affordable Bachelor's in Kinesiology for 2020 according to Great Value Colleges), youll explore a wide variety of fields like community health, school health, nutrition, exercise physiology, exercise and sport psychology, adaptive/developmental physical education, biomechanics, motor learning and control. Ensuring our HCAP students are ready for the world of work is a top priority. HCAP has a dedicated internship director who coordinates with employers to provide internship opportunities and advice for students. There have been over 140,000 internships hours completed by HCAP students. Courses offer career-engaged learning experiences such as opportunities in undergraduate research, internships and field experiences. The HCAP Student Success Center provides additional outside classroom support in professional development and leadership.<br>Students pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology may select a concentration in athletic training, rehabilitation science, exercise science, physical education, or strength and conditioning. Students with a concentration in athletic training are prepared to pursue state licensure in athletic training careers. The student must be admitted into the Athletic Training Apprenticeship Program within the UTSA Athletic Department in order to pursue this concentration. National certification in athletic training requires additional academic training in an accredited graduate program. Students with a concentration in rehabilitation science are prepared to pursue careers in health care such as physical therapy and/or occupational therapy. Physical and/or occupational therapy licensure requires additional academic training in an accredited graduate program.<br>This program provides students with the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Athletic Training. Students must be accepted into the Athletic Training Apprenticeship Program to pursue this concentration.
