When applying to the Sport Administration, M.S. program, you will need to submit several documents for review.
Online Application
Goals Statement (please draft an essay that addresses the following questions, upload with the application)
Why are you applying to the sport administration program and why are you applying to Georgia State University's program? (around one (1) page in length)
Describe your experiences with a sport (as a player, spectator, fan, employee, volunteer, etc.) and what problems or issues in the industry concern you because of your experiences. (around one (1) page in length)
Resume (upload with the application)
One Letter of Recommendation (identify your recommender on the application) the letter should be from a former college professor or instructor who can evaluate your academic promise. Coaches and other comparable individuals who have not seen you in an academic setting are not recommended.
Official Transcript(s): undergraduate degree with a minimum 3.0 GPA required for admission consideration.
In addition, if English is not the primary language, official TOEFL or IETLS scores must be submitted to Georgia State University. TOEFL scores should be submitted using school code 5251 and IETLS scores can be submitted by selecting Georgia State University Graduate Admissions. Applicants must submit a minimum TOEFL score of 79 or a minimum IETLS score of 6.5 for graduate admission. Applicants who completed a degree within the United States, will not be required to take the English proficiency exam. The Master of Science in Sport Administration degree program seeks to prepare graduates with professional skills and knowledge for careers in the 300-plus billion dollar sports business industry through an exceptional program inspired by excellence, vision, scholarship, leadership, and entrepreneurship.<br><br>The sport industry segment includes careers in youth, amateur, community, professional, and international sport organizations, in addition to affiliated industries such as event management, media, facilities, merchandising, club management, entrepreneurial enterprising, sports travel and tourism, and athlete representation and management. Potential career paths can be found in such areas as management, marketing, law, finance, media, promotions, public relations, sports information, and coaching. The program is designed to meet the curriculum standards for the Commission on Sport Management (COSMA).
