Students who complete a Social Science profile in Sports, Games & Leisure will learn the critical skills necessary to understand how sports, games, and leisure activities relate to society and culture at large, by focussing especially on their interrelationships with media, economics, politics, education, families, and communities. Students will take classes that will not only allow them to think critically about what is happening both locally and globally at the level of sport, leisure, and play, but also encourage students to problem-solve and to act collectively as they participate in or contribute to specific sporting contexts.<br><br>The Social Science profile in Sports and Leisure Studies prepares students to pursue university studies in any Social Science discipline such as anthropology, economics, sociology, geography, history, political science, psychology, as well, law, journalism, education, and social work. This profile is not a prerequisite for a specific university program.
