Essays
Essays are a way for you to share your perspective and plans. The best essays are introspective, authentic, and succinct by directly answering our specific questions. Double-space each essay and ensure it is between 500-700 words.
Required Essay 1
How will the Georgia MBA help you achieve your short- and long-term career goals? (400 words or less)
Required Essay 2
Option A
Tell us about a time you created a positive impact, either personally or professionally. Describe the impact. Why was it significant to you or others?
Option B
Describe a time when you contributed to making a work environment or organization more welcoming, inclusive, and diverse.
We accept both the GRE and the GMAT, but the GMAT is preferred. We do not have a minimum score requirement for either test, but please refer to our Class Profile to understand the average applicant profile. We highly encourage candidates to take time to prepare before test day.
Resume- Please submit a business resume that includes your employment and educational history in reverse chronological order (most recent first). For your work experience, include titles, dates, and whether you worked part-time or full-time. Your educational record should indicate dates of attendance and degree(s) earned. Other information appropriate to a business resume is encouraged, especially as it quantifies your experience and puts your achievements into context. When possible, include information about outside activities and interests, including community service and hobbies.
Work Experience
The Admissions Committee strongly prefers that candidates possess a minimum of two years of full-time work experience before entering the program for two main reasons. First, students are expected to relate real-world employment experiences to the concepts presented in the classroom. Second, MBA employers strongly prefer candidates with a minimum of two years of professional work experience. Entering an MBA program with less experience than preferred may limit your employment options and reduce your return on investment.
Transcripts
The University of Georgia requires that all applicants possess a baccalaureate degree, or a foreign equivalent, from a regionally accredited institution to apply for admission to the MBA program. Please refer to the Graduate School website for more specific information about requirements for domestic and international students. Additionally, candidates are expected to have a minimum 3.0 GPA. You can still apply if you do not meet the minimum requirement for the GPA, but it is highly recommended that you submit an optional essay addressing your academic performance. Official transcripts will be required after admission.

Today's organizations have seen a quantum leap in the amount of relevant data available for decision making. Stronger focus on managing internal business processes creates more internal data, and external data from a myriad of sources is now available on the internet. This internal and external data is increasingly being ''mined'' to improve insights about customers, competitors, and internal operations. The implementation of mass sensor networks to provide data to address environmental sustainability issues will add to this data deluge. The insights gained from data analysis can help organizations make better decisions, all the way from the boardroom to the customer-facing employees. Better decisions mean better organizational performance. Businesses are quickly turning to ''business analytics'' and ''Big Data'' to harness this ocean of data and the new technologies needed to make sense of it. The demand for employees with the skills and understanding in this realm is growing fast, and not likely to subside.
