The Graduate School requires a course-by-course evaluation report showing completion of a bachelors and a graduate degree if required by the program that is equivalent to a US degree from an international college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or Commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
Students enter Graduate School with no academic standing and are expected to earn at least a GPA of 3.0 in their first semester to be placed in Academic Good Standing Continuing students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate course work at UNCG to remain in Academic Good Standing.
Academic Transcripts - For US transcripts please follow the normal protocol from your institution when ordering official transcripts For Undergraduate Admissions the International Recruitment and Admissions Office accepts stamped copies of high school transcripts from US community colleges.
IBT TOEFL 79 TOEFL iBT Special Home Edition score report also accepted same score and paper based - 550.
IELTS 6.5 IELTS Indicator also accepted same band score.
Duolingo English Test DET - 110.
ELS - 112 score report.
Kaplan International Higher Intermediate Level.
ELPs must not be more than 2 years old from the date of application submission.
In addition to the application materials required by the Graduate School applicants must submit a 500-700 word personal statement to be considered for admission

The master's in mathematics is a 30 semester-hour program that is offered in five areas of concentration: Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Data Analytics, Actuarial Mathematics, and Teaching College Mathematics. Each concentration includes specific requirements, and all coursework must be approved by the director of graduate studies.<br><br>Students who plan to continue to the PhD program in Computational Mathematics are urged to select the area exams of the comprehensive exam option as their master's capstone experience.<br><br>The department offers research opportunities in major areas of research including Combinatorics, Differential Equations, Geometric Group Theory, Number Theory, Mathematical Biology, Statistics, and Topology. <br>A select number of MA students receive stipends of 10,800 per year as well as tuition waivers.<br>Our robust seminar and colloquium schedule brings leading researchers from around the world to UNCG.<br>Our faculty are active researchers and have received grants from the Joseph M. Bryan Foundation,the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, the National Security Agency, NC Quest, the Simons Foundation, and others.
