The Bachelor of Science in Mathematics consists of a broad range of mathematics courses as well as a sequence of three courses in physics. The degree is designed to give students an appreciation of the applications of mathematics to the sciences and would serve students interested in graduate work in mathematics or careers in engineering, mathematics, or science. Our math department is known for innovation. We?ve ?flipped? the classrooms in many of our math courses, so instead of taking notes in a large lecture hall, you spend class time analyzing and solving problems together. Today's classes incorporate technology to facilitate collaborative work, getting right to the heart of helping you solve real-life mathematical problems.<br><br>Join our Math Club and team up with faculty and students to solve advanced problems. Do research side-by-side with a mathematics professor who will know you personally, thanks to our small class sizes. Take the opportunity to co-author research publications and make presentations at regional and national conferences. Intern at insurance, banking, and technology companies in Hartford, Boston, and New York City. Or work as part of our cooperative education (co-op) program, which allows you to earn academic credit and high wages, if you qualify. Here, there are no limits to what you can achieve.
