The Mathematics Faculty of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of South Florida consists of approximately 30 members. There are currently more than 60 students seeking graduate degrees in mathematics, the department supports approximately 40 of these students with Graduate Teaching Assistantships.<br><br>Research interests of the Faculty span over: Algebra, Analysis, Applied and Computational Mathematics, Algebraic Geometry, Optimization Theory, Mathematical Physics, Approximation Theory, Combinatorics, Cryptography, Cybersecurity, Control Theory, Differential Equations, Dynamical Systems, Integrable Systems, Knot Theory, Nonlinear Analysis, Number Theory, Probability, Soliton Theory, Special Functions, Stochastic Modeling and Analysis, Theoretical Computer Science, and other areas.
