High school graduate: If you are currently in high school, we just need to see your 9-11 (or equivalent) grade transcripts for an admission decision. However, you must graduate from an approved high school (or equivalent) prior to starting classes at CMU.
To ensure your success at CMU, you must provide proof of proficiency in English
Submit official transcripts from your high school. If you have college credits, also submit transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended.
TOEFL: 550 PBT/79 IBT for regular admission.
IELTS: 6.5 for regular admission.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GSE): A score of A or B on the English Language Exam.
SAT: Evidence-based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 520.
ACT: English score of 21.
ELS Language Center Program: Completion of Level 112 for regular admission.
International Baccalaureate (IB): A grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level is required for regular admission.

Statistics is the discipline that deals with the collection, organization, analysis, interpretation and presentation of data. It is also a foundation for Data Science. The goal of statistics is to make informed and sound decisions. Therefore, statistics play a role in nearly every field that has data. Examples of these fields include public health, market analysis, manufacturing industry, environmental study, social science, but the list goes on and on. Central Michigan University's statistics program will help you build problem-solving skills that prepare you for a wide range of in-demand and versatile careers. As a statistics major at CMU, you will work with top faculty supported by National Science Foundation grants. You'll have the chance to apply equations and theories learned in class and to conduct research and present your results at CMU's Student Research and Creative Endeavors Exhibition.
