国际学生入学条件

Unofficial transcripts of all undergraduate and prior graduate work must be uploaded with your application to WSU. Upon admission, please have official transcripts sent to the Graduate School directly from the registrar's office of your prior institutions. Transcripts are not considered official until they are received directly from registrar offices in a sealed envelope. GRE test scores are not required by the Department of Mathematics. However, we encourage applicants to submit scores for the GRE General Test and the GRE Subject Test in Mathematics. These scores must be no older than 5 years at the time of application. A grade point average equivalent to a U.S. grade of â€œBâ€ or better is required. The WSU Graduate School uses a 4-point scale format which indicates a 3.00 = B.

课程简介

The PhD in Statistical Science is meant to give students both a strong background in statistics and a working knowledge in a secondary field. Core (6) and elective (5) statistics classes offered through the Department of Mathematics & Statistics are taken in addition to five classes from a partnering allied department, such as Biology, Economics, Education, Mathematics, or Psychology. At least one member of the student's committee must be from the appropriate allied department in the student's field of research. This creates an interdisciplinary curriculum designed to teach students to develop new statistical methods to solve real life problems that arise in their chosen area of concentration. Statistical Science will be offered as a PhD program to incoming students starting Fall 2018.
