Graduate degree applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. college or university or the equivalent degree from a foreign college or university. Applicants in the process of completing the bachelor's degree may apply for admission. Admission to the program requires completion of the bachelor's degree.

Describe the ways in which your artistic practice, past work, and other professional experience make you a good fit for The New School's Master of Arts program in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship. (300-400 words)
What is your view of the role(s) that an artist can play to effect positive social change? (300-400 words)
Tell us about your entrepreneurial, leadership, and/or management skills and how you will apply the skills you will gain in these areas after you complete this program. (300-400 words)
Submit Your Portfolio
Arts Management and Entrepreneurship MA
A portfolio must be submitted with your application. Your portfolio will be evaluated in three areas:
Artistic skills
Entrepreneurialism, leadership, or management skills
Socially engaged practice or social justice values/goals
Submit Two Letters of Recommendation
Two letters of recommendation from professional and/or academic references are required. Recommendations must be submitted by recommenders directly via the online application portal. Instructions are included in the online application.
Submit College Transcripts
Applicants must upload an unofficial transcript, mark sheet, or academic record for each institution (even if you didnt receive a degree) in the Academic History section of the online application.
All applicants whose first language is not English must submit valid TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or DET scores. Minimum required scores are:
TOEFL iBT - 100
IELTS - 7.0

Develop the skills you need to thrive as an artist, adding to your talents as a musician, composer, actor, director, playwright, or multidisciplinary artist. The Master's in Arts Management and Entrepreneurship enables you to deepen your abilities as a performer while gaining knowledge and skills that prepare you for a diverse range of career options in performing arts management, arts administration, entrepreneurship, arts education, cultural policy and advocacy, and arts philanthropy.<br>The curriculum and courses of the Arts Management and Entrepreneurship MA are tailored specifically to advance the careers of practicing performing artists. You are not just encouraged but required to maintain your artistic practice while you are developing your enterprise skills and knowledge. To facilitate this, you have the opportunity to take courses, pitch projects, and potentially perform with students and faculty from the Mannes, Jazz, and Drama schools in our College of Performing Arts. You can also receive credit for artistic work done outside of the university, like playing gigs with a band.
