International applicants, like all applicants to Brown, are expected to complete secondary school. Brown's first-year students will have completed 12 to 13 years of primary and secondary schooling. Similar to applications from students within the United States, we evaluate applications from students outside the United States with their context and opportunities in mind.
English language proficiency must be achieved before you are admitted. Brown does not offer courses in English as a Second Language for its undergraduates and does not offer provisional acceptances to students who are deficient in English.
A minimum score of 105 on the TOEFL internet-based exam, a minimum score of 8.0 on the IELTS

The Business Economics Track, which includes courses in macroeconomics, corporate finance, and investment portfolio analysis, allows students to specialize in areas ranging from international financial markets to institutions and financial regulation. BEO is one of the larger concentrations at Brown and offers students an academically rigorous approach to teaching and learning about business, organizational theory, entrepreneurship, and technological innovation. BEO places specific emphasis on the formation, growth, and organization of new ventures, innovation in commercial applications, financial markets and the marketplace, and management and organizational theory. Students learn the methodological approaches of economics, sociology, engineering, and entrepreneurship to study for-profit and nonprofit enterprises in the national and global economic context. The C.V. Starr Program in Business, Entrepreneurship, and Organizations (BEO) is an undergraduate concentration designed to educate students to be creative and flexible leaders in a number of careers. BEO is sponsored by the departments of Economics and Sociology and the School of Engineering and engages faculty and students in the study of commercial activity, technical and social entrepreneurship, innovation, and the organizations within which such activity occurs.
