Applicants are admitted to the MSIS program based on a comprehensive review by the Department of Information Systems of: their work experience reflected in a resume, their GMAT or GRE scores and two letters of recommendation from persons who have supervised the applicant's work. Depending on the background of the applicants, prerequisites may be required upon admission. The general university minimum admission requirements are: Completion of a four-year Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university by the end of summer for Fall admission, or by the end of Fall for Spring admission, Good academic standing at the last college or university attended, Grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.5 in an acceptable earned Bachelor's degree (or a GPA of at least 2.5 (out of 4.0) in the last 60 semester (or 90 quarter) units attempted), Submit Official Academic Records/Transcripts, Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 80 ibt or higher , International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Band 6.0 or higher , Toefl Paper - 550

The Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) is designed to provide managers and professionals the necessary technical and managerial skills needed to fulfill the responsibilities of senior professional and project management positions in the information systems/technology field. The MSIS degree program is organized into two options: a Professional option (PMSIS) designed for current IS/IT professionals and an Executive option (EMSIS) designed for managers and professionals working outside the IS field. A total of 30 units of 5000-level courses are required. The university also requires demonstration of writing proficiency by enrollment in and passing UNIV 4000 Writing Proficiency Examination (0 units) within the first two semesters of study.
