High school graduate: If you are currently in high school, we just need to see your 9-11 (or equivalent) grade transcripts for an admission decision. However, you must graduate from an approved high school (or equivalent) prior to starting classes at CMU.
To ensure your success at CMU, you must provide proof of proficiency in English
Submit official transcripts from your high school. If you have college credits, also submit transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended.
TOEFL: 550 PBT/79 IBT for regular admission.
IELTS: 6.5 for regular admission.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GSE): A score of A or B on the English Language Exam.
SAT: Evidence-based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 520.
ACT: English score of 21.
ELS Language Center Program: Completion of Level 112 for regular admission.
International Baccalaureate (IB): A grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level is required for regular admission.

Actuaries find ways to manage risk. As an actuary professional, youll use your problem-solving expertise to make real contributions. Youll have an impact on business, industry, government, education and more. The study of actuarial science includes comprehensive training in thinking, reasoning, computing and problem-solving. These talents will strengthen your education, make you a well-rounded individual and enhance your appeal to employers worldwide.<br>Our actuarial science program is designed to prepare you for the first four actuarial exams (P, FM, IFM and LTAM). These exams are administered by the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. Students are encouraged to pass at least two exams by the time they graduate.<br>As a student in the CMU actuarial science program, youll:<br><br>Get the support and opportunities to be successful through professional development, resources and developing contacts through student organizations.<br>Be prepared for up to four Actuarial Exams in (P, FM, IFM and LTAM) administered by the Society of Actuaries.<br>Benefit from a broad-based curriculum expressly designed to strengthen your skills for a career in business, industry, government and more.<br>Develop professional network through participating in a very active international student fraternity organization Gamma Iota Sigma, managed by actuarial science students.
