Meet the minimum requirement of 2.0 cumulative High School Grade Point Average or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for consideration.
EMU uses a test-optional admissions model for first-year admission.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.75 or higher will not be required to submit a standardized test score.
A student with a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5-2.74 will be considered test-optional. Upon review of application and academic history, standardized test scores may be requested if required.
At student with a cumulative high school of 2.49 and below will be required to submit a test score.

This combined degree program prepares students for careers in public accounting, industry, and governmental and nonprofit entities.<br><br>Learn<br><br>All business students at Eastern Michigan University must take a Business Core that provides basic knowledge in statistics, accounting and finance principles, information systems, law, management, marketing, operations management, and business policy.<br><br>Accounting Information Systems majors take advanced courses in financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax accounting, accounting information systems, and computer information systems. The courses provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to identify, measure, collect, analyze and communicate economic information to permit informed judgments and decisions by managers in various organizations and outside users of accounting information, as well as design, implement, and manage computerized accounting information systems. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to enter the public accounting profession and high-level accounting positions in other organizations.<br><br>Opportunities<br><br>An Accounting Information Systems Major offers diverse opportunities in all types of organizations: for-profit, non-profit, and local and federal government agencies. Accounting information systems majors generally start their careers in Public Accounting Firms as Staff in accounting, audit, Information audit, assurance services, and consulting and may progress to Partner. Other opportunities may include Information Systems Analyst, Information Security Analyst, Information Systems Auditor, Accounting Manager, Internal and External Auditor, Tax Accountant, and Manager. Over time, Accounting Information Systems Majors hold senior positions such as Controller, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Executive Officer.
