Applicants with an undergraduate degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited institution and a grade point average equal to or greater than 3.00 may be admitted to the program without taking the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). All other applicants may be admitted if they score 500 or better on the GMAT. All applicants with an index of at least 1,100 computed by multiplying the undergraduate grade point average by 200 and adding the GMAT score will also be considered.
Official final bachelor’s degree transcript and degree certificate must be sent in the original language, accompanied by a certified English translation and contain ALL college or university academic credits and grades.
(TOEFL) Test of English as a Foreign Language (Internet based) minimum score of 80 for graduate study.
(MELAB) Michigan English Language Assessment Battery minimum score of 82 for graduate study.

Successful completion of the advanced level of INTO Marshall Academic English level 6 with no grades below B.
Successful completion of INTO Marshall Pathway course ENG 160 or ENG 101A with minimum grade C.
Diploma or degree from an English speaking school – a degree or diploma from an accepted accredited college or university in which the primary language of instruction for the entire institution is English.
You have graduated from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.

The Marshall University MS in Accountancy Program develops skills needed to succeed in today's accounting profession. The MS in Accountancy is a 30 credit hour graduate program that can be completed within three or four semesters. The MS in Accountancy will prepare students to successfully enter the accounting profession and satisfy the educational requirements to become a Certified Public Accountant. The program features professional accounting research methods using electronic databases as well as computer auditing techniques. Ethics and professional services are stressed throughout the program. This program is essential to helping meet the demand for public accountants in West Virginia. The Master of Science in Accountancy will prepare you to successfully enter the profession of public accounting. No other Master of Science in Accountancy program is offered in the state of West Virginia. The mission of the Division of Accountancy and Legal Environment is to provide an education that will enable graduates to successfully enter the profession of accountancy, business, and/or graduate study. The faculty is committed to maintaining a current and relevant curriculum in the fields of accountancy and legal environment through professional engagement, service to our communities, and the development of applied and pedagogical research.
