Admission to the Graduate Diploma in Accounting for Laurier students requires:
Admission to the graduate diploma in accounting is normally* restricted to graduates of undergraduate programs in the Lazaridis School of Business & Economics,
Completion of all prerequisites for courses in the graduate diploma (completed or in the final stages of completion with a minimum grade of C- in each course), and
A minimum required average in business-related courses of B-.
An application for admission to our Graduate Diploma in Accounting program must include:
The Application Summary, which is generated after you complete your OUAC application (log back in to OUAC to retrieve it).
Transcripts of all undergraduate and graduate work. Documents must be dated within the past six months.
Resum
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL):
TOEFL iBT/TOEFL iBT Home Edition: minimum score of 83, with minimum skill scores of 20 in each of the skills tests (speaking, writing, reading and listening).
Paper-based TOEFL: minimum of 560.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS, IELTS Online): academic minimum score of 6.5 with no band score below 6.0.
Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic, PTE Academic Online): minimum score of 59

The Lazaridis School of Business and Economics Graduate Diploma in Accounting builds upon your undergraduate accounting program and provides a structured and comprehensive path for those working toward the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.<br>This 12-week program, offered every summer and fall, enhances your knowledge of the technical and enabling competencies required by CPAs (such as financial reporting, tax, auditing, professionalism and problem solving), and prepares you to complete the Common Final Examination (CFE). Upon completion of the program, you will enter the CPA's Professional Education Program (PEP) at Capstone 1, thereby bypassing the first four modules of the PEP.<br>Program Highlights<br>This program is designed to be completed in one term, full-time. Students who have finished their undergraduate degree will complete this program in order to prepare for the CPA examinations (the CFE).<br>This program, designed to facilitate CPA preparation, will provide you with advanced and integrated knowledge in financial accounting, management accounting, auditing and taxation.<br>You'll gain technical and practical skills that will benefit your future career advancement.<br>All of the program's courses are designed to address the competencies outlined in the CPA Competency Map.
