High school graduate: If you are currently in high school, we just need to see your 9-11 (or equivalent) grade transcripts for an admission decision. However, you must graduate from an approved high school (or equivalent) prior to starting classes at CMU.
To ensure your success at CMU, you must provide proof of proficiency in English
Submit official transcripts from your high school. If you have college credits, also submit transcripts from all colleges or universities you have attended.
TOEFL: 550 PBT/79 IBT for regular admission.
IELTS: 6.5 for regular admission.
General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSE) or General Certificate of Education (GSE): A score of A or B on the English Language Exam.
SAT: Evidence-based Reading and Writing (EBRW) score of 520.
ACT: English score of 21.
ELS Language Center Program: Completion of Level 112 for regular admission.
International Baccalaureate (IB): A grade of 5 in English at the Higher Level is required for regular admission.

The finance program at CMU will help you develop a solid background in all aspects of business. You will be well prepared for a career in finance, investments, banking and high-level management. You can even prepare to be a CEO: more chief executive officers have a background in finance than in any other business field. The finance major is designed for students who are interested in a career in one of the three divisions of finance: corporate finance, investments, and financial institutions. Corporate finance involves decision making by financial managers at corporations. Investments deals with security analysis and building well-diversified portfolios. The study of financial institutions includes preparation for careers with institutions such as investment banks, commercial banks, savings & loans, credit unions, and life insurance companies. The mission of the Finance major is to prepare students for employment and leadership across the spectrum of finance and business in global society. By the end of the finance program students will be able to explain the methods and process of capital budgeting.By the end of the finance program students will be able to evaluate risk-return implications of capital structure decisions and the process for return of funds to investors.By the end of the finance program students will be able to understand valuation and trading practices for derivatives.
