n addition to other requirements for admission to the Graduate College at FAU, to be considered for these masters programs in the College of Business applicants must:
1. Have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university or the international equivalent. Official transcripts from all previous institutions should be sent to FAU Graduate Office.
2. Have a strong grade point average on all previous college work, though emphasis will be on the last 60 credits earned.
The admission decision is based on the strength of the application as a whole. Applicant with a minimum standardized test score of approximately 500 GMAT and/or 300 GRE total and a GPA above a 3.0 in the last 60 credits of undergraduate degree have a good chance to be considered for admission. Applicants' GPA's in accounting courses are also calculated and taken into consideration. The admission requirements are competitive and minimum published requirements do not automatically guarantee student acceptance to the program.
The minimum College of Business requirement for the TOEFL is 600 (Paper-Based Test) and 100 (Internet Based Test). The minimum College of Business requirement for IELTS is a band score of 7.0.

The best way to stay abreast of all things taxation, is to enroll in the Master of Taxation program at Florida Atlantic University. The Master of Taxation (MTX) and Master of Accounting (MAC) degree programs share the same goal: to provide accounting education to a diverse group of students to help them become successful professionals in local, national, and global enterprises. The Master of Taxation goal will be accomplished by providing programs that aid students in developing technical, analytical, communication, interpersonal, and lifelong learning skills. The Master of Taxation degree program was designed to meet the demand for tax specialists in public accounting, private industry, and government. To this end, its objectives include rigorous development of: Technical competence, An appreciation of tax policy, A conceptual understanding of taxation, and An awareness of the responsibilities of a tax professional in today's society. The courses of the Master of Taxation program may be used to satisfy education requirements of the CPA and other professional licenses. The Master of Accounting degree program is selective. Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program. Students who have an undergraduate degree in accounting or other business are are preferable to those who do not have such degrees. Students who have been dismissed from any traditional (non-Executive) MAC or TAX program are not eligible for re-admission.
