To enter our university transfer program, you must have a high school diploma or school completion certificate. Some university transfer programs may require one or more semesters of additional preparation in order to meet the English requirements. If your native language is not English, you may demonstrate fluency in English at the university level by submitting documents showing the minimum results on the following tests:TOEFL IBT of 86 or 230 computer based score. A TOEFL score of at least 570 (paper based score) or 230 (computer based score). A minimum score of 6.5 on the I.E.L.T.S. with 6.0 on the writing component.

For most university degree programs, your certificate will allow you to enter directly into your second year of study at the BC university of your choice. (Since the requirements at other universities may differ, our academic counsellors can help you look at your options for universities outside of BC). All certificate programs require you to complete 30 to 31 credits. If you have already completed some courses at another institution, you may transfer up to 18 credits toward our certificate programs. Your final three courses (9 credits) must be completed at Coquitlam College. For students who want to apply for a second certificate, you must complete an additional two courses (6 credits) at Coquitlam College. Up to 6 credits from another institution may be transferred to your second certificate. The Business Certificate is a one-year (30 credits) program in business designed to provide the foundation coursework for completion of a university degree in business.
