The Graduate School requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a four-point scale for admitted graduate students. The graduate admission GPA is calculated based on upper-division and graduate coursework only. The committee will be looking for at least a 3.50 GPA (or approximate international equivalent) from your undergraduate and, if applicable, master's degree. Those with a GPA below the 3.50 minimum may still be considered for admission if all other application materials are compelling.
The Graduate School requires applicants to have earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution in the United States or a comparable degree from a foreign academic institution.
TOEFL: 79 on the Internet-based test (iBT)
IELTS: An overall band of 6.5 on the Academic Examination

课程简介
In conjunction with The McCombs School of Business, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies offers a program where a student can earn simultaneously the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the Master of Arts in Middle Eastern Studies in three academic years (degree code: 668650). Individually designed curricula include MBA core courses and electives and courses on the Middle East. The program is intended to provide qualified students with the skills and perspectives to work effectively in business related to or in the Middle East.
Students usually spend their first year in this program taking Middle Eastern Studies courses. The second year is dedicated to graduate business courses and approved electives. The final year of coursework is usually a combination of courses from both programs. Students must acquire proficiency in a Middle Eastern language and write a professional report.
In addition to the MA in Middle Eastern studies, the Center for Middle Eastern Studies offers seven dual degrees that allow graduate students to simultaneously earn an MA in Middle Eastern studies and a second degree from one of UT's professional schools. Dual Degree students typically spend a third year at CMES (or a fourth, in the case of the Law dual degree). MA degree requirements remain the same for Dual Degree students as for non-dual degree students.
