Graduation from US high school Students who have completed at least 2 years at a US high school and received their US diploma will be waived from English proficiency testing Such students must submit their official transcripts by Providing Transcripts to IVC.
ESL Partner Schools Students who have completed specific levels at an approved IVC English language school may be able to waive the English proficiency test requirement Submit an official transcript or letter verifying completion of the required level Please visit English Proficiency Requirements for a list of IVCs partner English language schools.
English proficiency can be met by submitting one of the following English proficiency tests.
Official exam scores must not be more than two years old.
TOEFL - 52 iBT or 470 paper based test IVC institution code is 4773.
IELTS - 4.5.

CAMBRIDGE ENGLISH 160 - B2 First, C1 Advanced.
PEARSON - 41.
EIKEN Grade 2A - Original test score reports are required for the EIKEN test.

The goal of the Administrative Assistant Certificate of Achievement program is to prepare students for employment as Administrative Assistants or Business Office/Information Specialists in various business sectors in the community. The objectives of the Administrative Assistant program include: composing correspondence, preparing a variety of business documents, scheduling and coordinating meetings/events, creating, updating, and managing word processing files, spreadsheet files, and database files, managing projects, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, providing support to colleagues and customers, assisting with all aspects of administrative management, coordinating within departments and operating units, and performing multifaceted office support and all day-to-day operations. Expected outcomes of the Administrative Assistant program include the ability to demonstrate skills needed for entry-level positions in a business office including the ability to: apply computing techniques to solve common business problems, manipulate and interpret data, disseminate the data methodology, analysis, and results, engage in critical thinking, manipulate the features and functions of common business applications to produce a variety of business documents, and to compose, criticize, evaluate, and revise the content and structure of written business communications. Coursework is designed to develop students communication, keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheet, and database skills. Potential careers include Secretary, Executive Secretary, Office Assistant, Executive Assistant, Receptionist, Office Clerk, Administrative Assistant, and/or Word Processors/Typists.<br><br>Program Student Learning Outcomes<br><br>Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:<br><br>Students will apply computing techniques to solve common business problems, to manipulate and interpret data, and to disseminate the data, methodology, analysis, and results.<br>Students will engage in critical thinking to manipulate the features and functions of common business applications to produce a variety of business documents.<br>Compose, criticize, evaluate, and revise the content and structure of written business communications.
