We welcome applications from students who may not have formal/traditional entry criteria but who have relevant experience or the ability to pursue the course successfully.Normally IELTS 6.0 with no individual element below 5.5, or equivalent recognised Secure English Language Test, (SELT).TOEFL IBT: 79 overall including minimum listening - 17, reading - 18, writing - 17, speaking - 20.

The MSc Professional Accounting course specifically addresses the needs of those who have completed a first degree in accounting where they have passed all ACCA Applied Skills and Knowledge papers (these were previously known as papers F1 to F9) and wish to study for the outstanding Strategic Professional papers (previously known as papers P1 to P7) to qualify as an accountant. Teaching is based at our Salford campus close to Manchester city centre.You will identify, formulate and solve business problems employing appropriate methodologies, qualitative and quantitative skills, and involving the creation and assessment of management needs. This is a professional programme focused on helping you become a fully qualified professional accountant so you will be learning from fully qualified accountants and industry experts from iCount Training who have themselves sat and passed all their professional exams. It is also a highly practical course, you will be introduced to modern accounting and management techniques that are widely used in industry and will work on real-world examples to develop your skills.<br><br>The course is delivered in two blocks of intensive study periods. For each block, you study two modules for a 12-week period. Face-to-face teaching is delivered by fully qualified external experts, on campus, for two full days each week. In addition, you will attend the taught element of the Industry Collaboration Project (ICP) to develop your research and consultancy skills, this currently takes place each Wednesday afternoon during the 12-week blocks. You will also undertake independent study in your own time with online support through the University's virtual learning environment, Blackboard.For the final third of your studies, you will work on your Industry Collaboration Project (ICP), working with your own or another organisation. The Industry Collaboration Project (ICP) module accounts for the final 60 credits of your degree. You will have the opportunity to select between a live project, placement, internship or dissertation, all of which are designed to accommodate your career aspirations and enhance your professional experience.<br><br>Students on completing this course will be able to work as an accountant in all industries. More specifically it is aimed at ambitious students who plan on becoming chief financial officers, chief executive officers, company directors and other senior roles in industries both UK and abroad.
