Huddersfield Business School is excited to announce a new portfolio of courses that are currently being formalised. These are designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to be influential and successful in a rapidly changing global environment. Our new portfolio covers a wide variety of subject areas offering courses in traditional business and management alongside new and innovative topics. Although this specific course will not be available in 2019, a similar range of courses will follow covering contemporary topics that suit the changing external environment. This course aims to provide you with an in-depth and philosophical understanding of the concepts of operations and supply chain management. The course integrates business management techniques and the management technologies they rely on. If you have studied and want to pursue a career in operations management or supply chain management, then this course is for you. You can learn the skills that ensure operations run more efficiently and effectively, particularly in the face of global market turbulence, agility, and business resilience. You also have the opportunity to gain the knowledge vital for professional operations, arising from the complexities of projects, supply chain management and operations. We use innovative teaching techniques including case studies, simulations and interactive games, alongside the opportunity to network with experts from industry. You are able to gain real-world insights and investigate real-business scenarios with industry visits/case study projects, as well as experience the industry standard management information system software 'SAP. The programme offers an opportunity for you to apply your newly acquired knowledge in this subject area through a three-month research project, undertaken during the summer, in order to demonstrate your integrated knowledge and professional development. Our programme aims to produce graduates who can apply this knowledge in a thorough, systematic, informed and creative way, in order to improve the effectiveness and competitiveness of organisations. The course is accredited by the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics (CILT) and the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
