It would normally be expected that this degree be awarded at the level of lower second class or above
Other graduates who can demonstrate a commitment to the study of tourism management or who have significant industrial background will also be considered for entry
IELTS - 6.5 (with no component score lower than 6.0)
TOEFL IBT - 91 (with minimum grades of 21 in each component)

Postgraduate International Hospitality and Event Management provides management education for existing managers and those with a relevant undergraduate education who want to develop a career in the dynamic area of international hospitality and event management. The growing size and dominance of hospitality as the major employer around the world means that companies and organisations are continually seeking individuals with the knowledge and capabilities of managing a variety of aspects throughout this dynamic and expanding industry. Current hospitality trends and market analysis are used to illustrate the competitive environment within which changing event provision and expansion can be successfully delivered.Therefore the emphasis throughout this postgraduate course is on the development of a wide range of professional and managerial skills linked to key themes within the area of international hospitality and event management.<br><br>This is a year-long course comprises three parts. The first two parts include a taught element which focuses on key aspects of Hospitality and Event Management. The final part consists of a research element leading to writing a Dissertation or a Management Consultancy Project. For full-time students, the taught element is normally completed over a nine month period, starting in September. Part-time students will normally attend on a one-day-a-week basis and complete the taught element in two to three years.<br><br>Students who complete the taught element of the programme, in part or in its entirety, may graduate with either a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma in International Hospitality and Event Management. Students wishing to complete the MSc in International Hospitality and Event Management must complete the research element, which comprises of a Dissertation or a Management Consultancy Project. Full-time students will normally complete this in the three months that follow the taught element, whilst part-time students complete this during the course of an academic session.<br><br>Work experience opportunities are available for students during non-teaching time within a range of different roles in the service sector management industry. Students are expected to secure their own work experience with a suitable employer with the support and guidance of the School.
