There will be opportunities to do group work, to learn from industry experts as well as from analysts with a high standard of research achievement. The course’s modules employ a variety of assessment methods, including report writing, essays, portfolios, posters, presentations, in-class tests, time-constrained assignments, and a final research project. You will gain the analytical, quantitative, computing, presentation and other transferable skills required to work in the financial sector, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, investment and unit trusts, and financial advisory work as well as other industries in both the private and public sectors. Also, the programme will provide an excellent foundation for postgraduate study in finance and economics.A placement can be undertaken locally, nationally or even, in some instances, international. During a placement, you will be doing similar work to a normal employee of the private, public or not-profit organisation. You will be able to have a unique insight into your chosen profession or sector, to acquire crucial personal skills and also you will have the opportunity to build a network of useful contacts. Many companies that employ graduates use placement programmes as a method of recruitment so you could be fast tracked into employment or onto one of their graduate schemes if you impress them. Our purpose-built Business School, the Lord Swraj Paul Building, sits at the heart of the University's City Campus - Molineux, right next to Wolverhampton Wanderers' Molineux Stadium. The six storey centre is home to an executive education suite, innovative teaching and learning spaces, an IT suite, consulting rooms and a central social space and cafe.
