Year 1 entry
96-112 points from any combination of recognised Level 3 qualifications. Consideration is also given to students without formal qualifications but with evidence of practical music technology experience at an appropriate level. Applicants may be invited to share a portfolio where applicable to show skills in music technology.
Applicants are invited join us on campus for an applicant day, enabling you to see our music technology facilities, meet staff and students and learn more about studying at Teesside University.
English language and maths requirement
Normally GCSE English language and maths at grade C, or 4 under the new grading system. Alternative equivalent qualifications may be considered.
Non-EU international students who need a student visa to study in the UK should check our web pages on UKVI-compliant English language requirements. The University also provides pre-sessional English language courses to help you meet the English language requirements.
For entry onto an undergraduate degree programme, you would normally need a pass in at least two A levels, or equivalent level 3 qualifications as a minimum. The new level 3 T levels, offered from September 2020, will be considered for entry onto our courses. There may be some course-specific requirements. You may also need GCSE passes at grade 4 (or C) or above, or other level 2 qualifications. These may be required in specific subjects, depending on your university course. including any additional course requirements such as an interview, portfolio or audition. Other level 2 qualifications may be accepted as alternatives. Some courses ask for additional entry requirements because of the requirements of the associated profession.

Getting into the music industry can be a tough gig, but our music technology degree gives you a foot in the door. This course includes an optional work placement year, at no extra cost. Music technology facilities See the facilities you use when you study music technology at Teesside University You perform in and run recording studio sessions. You create, produce, mix and master stereo and surround recordings. You perform and engineer live performances, programme sound synthesizers, set up and run student-led projects, including a record label, promotion events or radio station, and create and dub music, sound effects and Foley to video and other media. You get involved in some exciting stuff using the latest state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.<br><br>Length: 3 years (or 4 with a work placement)
