国际学生入学条件
The standard minimum entry requirements for Postgraduate Research are an upper second class honours degree (2:1) from a UK university or an equivalent degree qualification from an overseas university. A Masters qualification is a requirement for entry on our PhD programme. Evidence of research skills and/or experience is useful. For international applicants whose first language isn’t English, we require a UKVI/IELTS score of 7 (with no component under 6.5). Applicants who have not reached this level, can be admitted to a 6-, 10- or 20-week pre-sessional English Language course, with the course length depending on your current UKVI/IELTS score (which must be over 6.0, with no component under 5.5). TOEFL iBT: 92 (no component under 23); 176 (minimum of 169 per component) in Cambridge Scale (CPE or CAE; Pearson Academic (PTE): 62 (with no less than 56 in each Communicative Skill).

课程简介
We offer both a taught MA, and research postgraduate programmes, with high levels of individual attention and personal support, and a student experience of exceptionally high quality. In addition to fostering intellectual growth, we assist in professional development by preparing students for the world of employment, providing opportunities for them to work as teaching and research assistants, to disseminate their research, and to participate in dedicated training courses. Our Research Forum and Postgraduate Seminar series are run by students themselves, who choose topics for discussion and invite external speakers. Postgraduates share a dedicated room in the Department with PC and Apple computers set up for their needs, and can also make full use of other facilities in the department such as our studios, multimedia room, concert room and instrument collection. We encourage you to look through the staff areas of expertise to identify how your own research interests might fit within our inclusive and active department. We offer high-quality teaching, research-led practices, and world-leading courses. Students studying for a research degree concentrate on pursuing an independent research project devised in consultation with their supervisors. Musicologists and ethnomusicologists write a large-scale dissertation, and composers produce a portfolio of original compositions accompanied by a critical commentary. You will work under the guidance of an expert supervisory team and your progress will be reviewed periodically to support you in bringing the project to a successful conclusion.
