Go deeper into your area of musical interest and further explore music from cultural, historical, technical, creative and performative perspectives. At the New Zealand School of Music (NZSM) you can choose from an extensive range of courses and research topics. You might focus on the fine arts side of music and study composition, sonic arts, music technology, classical or jazz performance, or you can concentrate on music from a more critical or academic perspective. NZSM offers a comprehensive set of subject options that can be studied as part of a range of postgraduate music programmes. Most of these require you to have a BMus or BMus(Hons) to enrol. Explore your area of musical interest in more detail and improve your career prospects with a BMus(Hons). Refine your research, writing and analytical skills while expanding your music skills and knowledge. An Honours year will also prepare you for Master's study and beyond.
