96 UCAS Tariff points from a minimum of 2 A Levels (or equivalent level 3 qualifications), including Art, Design or Media subjects.
3 GCSEs at grade C, or grade 4, or above, including English.
You will be asked to provide a digital portfolio for review and will be given the option to book a meeting to discuss this with us.
If English is not your first language you will be expected to demonstrate a certificated level of proficiency of at least IELTS 6.0 (Academic level) or equivalent English Language qualification, as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
You may also be accepted to this course with an IELTS 5.5 (Academic level- with no individual score being lower than 5.5) or equivalent English Language qualification as recognised by Anglia Ruskin University, but will then be required to undertake additional compulsory free English language modules in your first year.
UCAS Tariff points acquired from BTEC Level 3 Diplomas in a related subject are accepted.
UCAS Tariff points from Access to HE Diplomas are accepted.
International Baccalaureate Diploma with a minimum of 24 points is accepted, this must include a related subject.
UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Advanced Highers are accepted, related subjects are required.
UCAS Tariff points from Scottish Highers are accepted, related subjects are required.
UCAS Tariff points from the Irish Leaving Certificate are accepted, related subjects are required.

Become a skilled and versatile 2D or 3D animator, with a focus on illustration and storytelling, at Cambridge School of Art and turn your creative ideas into a rewarding career in animation and illustration. Our BA (Hons) Animation and Illustration course explores the connections between animation and illustration, helping you to create sequential narratives using a variety of methods from the latest specialist 2D digital animation, 3D CGI used in industry and interactive techniques to traditional handmade image-making.<br><br>You will develop creative abilities, technical skills and a personal language within animation, as well as sequential imagery within graphic novels, with the focus being on illustration and design.<br><br>Perhaps most importantly, youll get time, guidance and support from a team of industry professionals, animators and illustrators who are dedicated to your creative development. As well as regular visiting industry speakers to inspire and guide you in your creative work, in your final year you will also receive guidance from an assigned industry advisor dedicated to the year. At Cambridge School of Art, youll experiment and discover, try stuff out, venture into the unknown and find solutions, develop and create.<br><br>While developing a unique visual style, youll also focus on the core foundations: studying the world around you, refining your drawing skills, learning the fundamentals of animation skills using industry standard 2D and 3D animation software, such as TV paint and Maya and learning to create engaging stories through moving images.<br><br>As a student at ARU youll receive ongoing support to find placements and work experience through the Creative Industries placement work experience module, and you can also take an optional placement year. Youll also get the opportunity to work on live briefs set by industry, weve previously worked with companies including Curveball Media and Allia Future, and more recently our students have worked with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, creating a short animated ident to promote their collaboration with Chelsea Flower Show.
