With the Extended Foundation programme you will study one additional term of academic and English language lessons before joining the three-term Foundation. This gives you additional preparation time to improve your IELTS score and help you achieve your potential. You will gain the academic and English language skills needed to progress to one of our Foundation pathways. Subject pathways taught in Brighton: Art and Design, Business, Finance and Management, Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computing, Humanities, International Relations and Politics, Law, Media, Science and Pharmacy. Subject pathways taught in London: Art and Design, Business, Finance and Management, Marketing.<br>The UK is the home of many famous broadcasting and media outlets, as well some of the best films and breakthrough communication moments in recent years. This makes it a great place to study media or communications. This specialist course provides an in-depth education in all areas of communication and high-quality preparation for degrees in media and communications-related subjects. You will learn theoretical knowledge and the practical skills needed to succeed in your chosen degree. The course is modular in structure. It has core modules studied by all Foundation students and core modules for the Media Foundation. The core Foundation modules develop academic and English language skills. During the first term of the Media Foundation programme, you will have the opportunity to work with a professional media team to produce a music video for a band or solo artist based at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM). You will work alongside teachers and industry professionals, and have regular contact with the artist, for two hours every week. You will gain a unique industry experience, providing you with skills that will stand out (such as team working, planning and improved subject knowledge) and help you progress to a top university.
