If you have a four-year Bachelor's degree graded in a four-point GPA system, you will need to have a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0.
If you have a Bachelor's degree graded in the British system (including from India), you must have been awarded the degree with first or upper second-class Honours.
Either a Bachelor's degree with Honours or a Master's degree from a New Zealand university, with an overall GPA of no less than 6 (letter grade B+),
Or to be currently enrolled in a Master's thesis at the Victoria University of Wellington and meet the requirements for conversion to a PhD,

IELTS (Academic): minimum overall score of 6.5 with no sub-score below 6.0
TOEFL: minimum score of 90 for the internet-based test with a minimum of 20 in writing

A Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree involves original and sustained research, mentored by an academic supervisor. It's an opportunity to make new discoveries, address some of the big issues of our time, challenge yourself, and develop a mix of transferable and specialised skills .Take your understanding of film to the next level and explore your area of interest in greater detail. From film authorship and aesthetics to 3D cinema and the relationship between film and tourism, carry out independent research and further develop your abilities to think critically and communicate effectively. Postgraduate study in Film gives you the opportunity to pursue your passion for cinema at an advanced level. You can explore your interests in detail while working with our dynamic researchers to complete a Master of Arts or PhD by thesis (which may include a creative project). If you want to move into the film industry you can apply for the Master of Fine Arts (Creative Practice). This unique one-year qualification is designed to prepare you for work in the film industry as an independent contractor. At Victoria's School of English, Film, Theatre, and Media Studies you'll learn from and work with highly regarded academics who are innovative and published researchers.
