Grade C at A-level, or an equivalent qualification, in an English or Humanities subject.
passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Level,
a pass in one subject at GCE Advanced Level plus (a) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or (b) a Vocational A-Level Single Award, or (c) two Vocational A-Level part Awards,
a Vocational A-Level Double Award, or
a Vocational A-Level Single Award plus (a) two Vocational A-Level part Awards, or (b) passes in two distinct subjects at GCE Advanced Subsidiary Level, or
a BTEC National Certificate or Diploma, or
a Scottish Certificate of Education with (a) passes in five subjects, including at least three at Higher grade, or (b) passes in four subjects all at Higher grade or New Higher grade, or
the full Diploma of the International Baccalaureate, or
an Irish Leaving Certificate with passes in four subjects at Grade C at the Higher level.
GCSE- Grade C or above in English Language or 4 in the GCSE 1–9 grading scale
Year 1 entry: 96–112 UCAS points (or equivalent)

International Baccalaureate- SL grade 4 or HL grade 3 (Language A - first language) or SL grade 6 or HL grade 5 (Language B – language acquisition)
TOEFL IBT- 80 overall with a minimum of 17 in Listening and Writing, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking, IELTS- 6.0 overall with a minimum 5.5 in each component

This practical and versatile degree is designed for those who seek a career with writing at its heart.<br> <br>Everybody on the programme is a writer and we treat our students as writers from the moment they start, academics and students come together over their shared passion for writing and all who teach you will understand the joy that you will feel when you see your first poem, article, or story appear in print.<br><br>During your three years at Roehampton you'll work with a range of published authors, journalists, copywriters, poets and screenwriters - all here for the sole purpose of helping you become the best writer that you can be. You will be part of a lively writing community that offers readings, a writers' society and access to London's rich creative scene, plus workshops with industry professionals from a range of writing specialisms.<br><br>Assessment is structured in a way that allows you to build a portfolio of your work as the course progresses, building to a valuable tool for job-hunting after graduation. There are also opportunities for work placements, and to study abroad in the second year.<br><br>Through our thriving partnerships with Wimbledon Bookfest and the Barnes Children's Literature Festival there are opportunities to volunteer or undertake paid work experience during your time with us.
