The Bachelor of Media Arts (Visual Arts) is being replaced by three separate degree programmes. Students who would have previously studied in the Bachelor of Media Arts should consider: Bachelor of Design for those interested in graphic design or fashion design Bachelor of Communication for those interested in digital marketing, photography, or moving image/screen arts production Bachelor of Contemporary Art for those interested in painting, sculpture, illustration, photography or moving image/screen arts production. The Bachelor of Media Arts (Visual Arts) is suitable for students continuing their study into year two or three of a media arts related degree. If you want to develop skills and knowledge to prepare you for a career in visual arts , then this programme is right for you. You can choose to specialise in painting or sculpture, and you'll also have the opportunity to study other Media Arts papers through electives. You'll study a range of contemporary art and illustration styles, and learn practical skills such as painting techniques and plastic, metal and wood fabrication for sculpture. You'll also be setting up installations and learning the professional practice of designing and curating exhibitions.
