Prepares students to take on the challenges of teaching a range of Design and Technology subjects across Years 7 to 12 Provides a strong theoretical foundation for the study and practice of design and technology across a variety of media and technologies The focus of the study will be on the design process including the practical manipulation of materials and systems designs within the context of contemporary technologiesLearning OutcomesDemonstrate broad and coherent knowledge of design and the Australian Curriculum and teaching strategies for design and technology educationReview analyse and synthesise knowledge of teaching strategies to plan for the content of design and technology teachingExercise critical thinking and judgement to plan and implement learning programs for a range of students with diverse abilities and needs and assess the outcomes using design and technology based teaching strategiesCommunicate knowledge and ideas clearly in both written and oral formatsDemonstrate leadership exercise professional judgement and collaborate to plan problem solve and make decisions in design and technologyAdapt knowledge and skills in diverse contexts to create positive learning environments in design and technologyCritically reflect using accredited standards mentor feedback and the ECA Code of Ethics to demonstrate responsibility and accountability and plan for continued collaborative and autonomous professional learning and development
