课程简介
The University of Surrey provides a supportive, single campus environment for you to immerse yourself in the study of law. The School of Law has a close-knit sense of community that Schools on larger campuses struggle to match.
Here you'll be taught by a combination of world-renowned and nationally recognised experts, from a wide-range of practical and academic backgrounds. Together with our active and enthusiastic student cohort, we've created one of the most vibrant and stimulating law schools in the country.
Graduation from Surrey will stand you in good stead for accessing the postgraduate qualifications necessary to become a solicitor or a barrister. To best ensure this opportunity, we've partnered with the University of Law to facilitate access to their solicitors courses.
We also offer award-winning Professional Training Placements and we deliver on jobs. Surrey was named University of the Year for Graduate Employment in The Times/Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022.
On our LLB Law course, youll gain a deep understanding of the main areas of legal knowledge, including law as it regulates the functions of the state (public law and criminal law), law as it regulates relations between private individuals (contract law and tort law), and law as it regulates the ownership and control of land and other property (land law, and equity and trusts). In addition to these core subjects, after the first year you will have the option to study a range of topics with experts in their fields, from Environmental Law to International Humanitarian Law to Medical Law to Tax Law, among many others.
You will learn how to debate the law, to analyse its application to given situations and to apply your legal understanding in a national or international context. Further opportunities to develop your professional skills are provided through a series of extracurricular activities focusing on client interviewing, negotiation and mooting.
