Course overview<br>We offer two types of research degree: an MPhil or a PhD – in any of the disciplines represented in our department, including social policy, criminology and sociology.Course structure<br>The PhD course will run over 3 years in a full-time mode and 6 years in a part-time mode. The MPhil course will run over 2 years in a full-time mode and 4 years in a part-time mode.For home students, a research degree programme may be undertaken either by full-time or part-time study or via distance learning.
