Studying for a PhD with UEL's School of Education and Communities, Department of Social Sciences will push you to the limit - and you'll be supported all the way by our world-class academic staff. Our research consistently delivers improved outcomes for the delivery of social for adolescent self-harm, suicide prevention and child abuse. Active social work and social policy research strands range from international human rights to the practical - such as applying practice-near research to social work, and using new media to help people with learning disabilities. We also use geo-information and numerical simulations to develop crime, health and social policies.
